Too good to be true?! We hear ya. Now hear us: it's not! Branch Basics has proved nothing short of a blessing to its growing fan base, made up of mostly mamas who are mystified by this soap's ability to degrease and disinfect, yet be safe enough to spritz on pacifiers, produce and hands. Because Branch Basics streamlines the cleaning process (and works!), it's no surprise we're deluged with testimonials: "Red stain out of white carpet!" "Removed last night's lasagna!" "Healed my son's eczema!" "Drops mosquitoes instantly!" "My husband's sunburn literally disappeared!" "Amazing jewelry cleaner!" "It's so safe my kids can help clean!" "This is the ONLY product we use!"...the list goes on.
We also get some pretty heart-warming words as well: "My headaches are completely gone." "My son's runny nose hasn't come back since I made the switch." "I've had total relief from chronic neck pain" "We haven't had our "allergy" flare-ups this season!" How could a cleaning product affect your health, you ask? Removing all toxic cleaning products from the home and replacing them with just one product lowers the chemical load on the body's detoxification system. This results in a reduction of immune stress, which increases the body's capacity for handling unexpected chemical exposures as well as its ability to handle natural pollens, dust and mold. At the same time, the body’s resistance to viruses and bacterial infection is increased, freeing up energy to heal if there is illness.
the basics
Branch Basics is a powerful, organic solvent made from the fatty acids of edible and seed-bearing plants. From household use and personal hygiene to commercial and industrial applications, this one formula cleans just about anything washable.** Its powerful enzymatic action makes it tough enough to dissolve hard engine grease, while its 100% non-toxic ingredients are safe enough to bathe a baby. We are continually blown away by its range of uses and encourage people to "never put it in a box!"
a MUST for a healthy home
Our homes should be a safe haven, a place for our family to restore and rejuvenate. Instead, the EPA says they're up to 10 times more toxic than the outdoor air. Ironically, the products we clean with are much to blame. Today there are over 17,000 chemicals allowed in conventional cleaning products, many of which are linked to respiratory issues, learning disabilities and cancer. Even many of the so-called "green" ones contain not-so-safe ingredients. Branch Basics replaces almost all conventional cleaners, saving you time, money and potential health concerns associated with harmful chemicals. It is the clear choice for people who understand the short- and long-term dangers of exposure to the toxic cleaners that are in widespread use today.
what does “human-safe” mean?
A product that is human-safe means, if accidentally ingested, it will not cause harm. There are many green products available that are non-toxic and earth-friendly, but this one attribute puts Branch Basics in a league of its own. Even the extremely chemically sensitive and immune compromised are able to use it with complete confidence.
how does Branch Basics work?
Branch Basics works by enzymatic action, penetrating and breaking up oil molecules into soluble, biodegradable components. This process contributes to the soap's natural antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties, allowing Branch Basics to outperform many of the toxic solvents, detergents, and cleaning products it replaces.
how does something so safe kill bugs?
The same enzymatic action that de-greases is what breaks down the exoskeletons of insects (oil-based creatures), making Branch Basics a safe, powerful pest control. It is a tried-and-true lice remover as well as flea shampoo for pets.
is Branch Basics economical?
Yes! Think of all the products you can replace with just this one concentrate: cleaners, de-greasers, produce wash, laundry detergents, pesticides and even body soaps! And while we recommend a 1:5 dilution, most jobs can be cleaned effectively with much more water, bringing the average cost per ounce even lower. For example, streak-prone surfaces require just a few drops of concentrate in a 32 oz bottle and a cap-full of concentrate is all you need in a large carpet-cleaning machine.
NOTE: The average cost of "green" cleaners - many of which still contain harmful chemicals - is $6.18 and their uses are very limited. At this 32 oz concentrate price, you can make about 6 all-purpose spray bottles (32 oz), thus costing about $4.58 each (about $0.14/ounce), and use it for virtually every cleaning need, both home and body.
Directions
Simply pour Branch Basics Concentrate to the appropriate fill line, clearly marked on our 32 oz Spray Bottle. Fill the rest with water, label the bottle (ex: "produce", "bathroom", "stains", "bugs") and start spraying! The go-to ratio is 1:5 (1 part concentrate, 5 parts water), but most of your cleaning needs can be conquered with more water. The 32 oz. concentrate makes 6 all-purpose spray bottles (32 oz). For more information on specific uses, see our popular blost post, "Branch Basics: So Much More Than Home Cleaning!"
laundry soap
Branch Basics is a fabulous laundry soap and a safe alternative to its toxic alternatives. Simply add 1 tbsp of concentrate to a large load (any type of washing machine). You can adjust a bit for smaller loads. The 32 oz concentrate washes about 64 loads. Add 1 cup baking soda as a softener to replace dryer sheets.
*Evaporated out during the manufacturing process
**Branch Basics should not be used on plywood, OSB, or any MDF or manufactured board. This is because the Branch Basics will break down the formaldehyde and pull it out of the board into the air, increasing the formaldehyde levels in the air. In addition, please test Branch Basics on a small area on any wood finish or painted surface to make sure that the dilution does not harm or remove the finish. Please see the Recommended Usage Guide for more details on cleaning wood and wood finishes.
